In August 2015, My Little Patient traveled to Puttaparthi, India located in the Andhra Pradesh region (state). Each morning we left Puttaparthi to set up a clinic in a surrounding village. Over a 6-day period, we visited 6 distinct villages servicing a different population each time. Each village varied in size but all are located in rural, underserved areas of the country.
Our team consisted of physicians, nurses, a pharmacist and other non-medical personnel. We provided general physical examinations, women and children’s services, dental fluoride treatments as well as acute care for sprains, burns and wounds for any villager desiring medical attention. We also provided educational services on CPR, oral hygiene and general preventative care, promoting continued health benefits following our departure.
